Don't just take our word for it! Please take a moment to read some testimonials about our park from our great campers!

"Shore Acres is a beautiful , scenic , quiet park that has a well maintained beautiful private sandy beach , that is run by a very friendly attentive staff . It's proximity to downtown port Dover means you can easily walk or bike to Dover's great restaurants and attractions . We are enjoying Shore Acres now (4 years) as our parents have done for the past 25 years. Love it."

"What can we say about this beautiful park. We first started camping at Shore Acres two seasons ago. Our first summer we stayed for a couple of weekends, then last year decided to become full time seasonal campers and we just loved it. Where else can you camp and get a million dollar view of Lake Erie in your backyard.  The beach is private and well maintained and the grounds are very clean with grass under your feet.  All of the facilities are clean and the staff and fellow campers are very friendly.  You are just a few kilometres from downtown Port Dover where there are many restaurants, stores and shops. You are also minutes away from the Lynn Valley Trail and lots of water sports.  Did I mention the famous Lake Erie perch? A must have. So when we're asked where we camp, we say we Summer in Port Dover on the Radical Road."

Shore Acres, being situated on the outskirts of the quaint town of Port Dover, Ontario, is a true oasis and  has been my family’s home away from home for many generations.   I have been fortunate to frequent Shore Acres Park for over 40 years now – it all began with my Grandfather, then with my parents and now myself and my spouse.   Situated on Lake Erie, its peaceful tranquility is reflected in the breath taking view from the impeccably groomed grounds which overlook the Lake.  On a clear day you can see Erie Pennsylvania across the Lake.  It is a beautifully laid out park with its own private beach.  It is very well organized and impeccably maintained by staff.   You will not find a more well looked after park anywhere – these high standards are also expected of the “full timers” in the park – you will not find an individual site that is not well maintained.

One can simply spend the days relaxing at Shore Acres or, especially during the summer months, partake in many festivals and events going on in the Region – there is always something to do. The arts are celebrated in Port Dover, with local talent being promoted – ranging from the Lighthouse Theatre to free music every Sunday evening in Powell Park.  While at Shore Acres you are not far from being able to fish, swim, embark on nature trails, hiking, biking, horseback riding, festivals, and restaurants close by.  If it is the small town atmosphere you crave you are only a five minute drive from “downtown” Port Dover where you will be greeted with that small town friendly feel of local shops and businesses ranging from one of a kind shops, family owned restaurants, shopping, library, market, etc.  If you are looking for something a little “larger”  then you can head 10 minutes to Simcoe where you can find local businesses and a vast number of unique shops intertwined with Walmart, Supercentre shopping and many chain restaurants.   There are ample brochures in the Park’s office offering a vast array of things to do in the close by community. Everything is at your fingertips while at Shore Acres.

In 2015, Shore Acres Park was sold to Marnie and family.   It is not an exaggeration to say that more improvements and upgrades have been done to the Park since this takeover, then have occurred in the past 10 years.    Brenda, who has been with the Park for years, helped the transition running the office, working hard and always smiling, while the new addition to the Park, Joanne, wears many hats, is always working hard tending to everyones needs – in essence being her usual “Superwoman” self – you might find her in the office solving a problem or out in the Park atop the tractor or cutting down a tree.   And Marnie does everything she can to make everyone in the Park, both overnighters and permanents, feel at home and satisfied with their time at the Park – she is not happy unless every last person in the park is happy.

The amenities at Shore Acres are numerous and have improved substantially.  From providing us with park benches, upgrading the infrastructure within the Park, setting up a Library, renovating the Community Room which is free to clients to use, renovating the bathrooms and Main Offices, improvements to the grounds and sites themselves, and all the work that has gone into making the private beach as well groomed as any beach around, the list goes on and on.

You will never find a more special delightful place than Shore Acres– it is a little slice of heaven here on earth.   But it isn’t  just its natural beauty that make it so special.   More than that, it is a safe, close knit community – almost like a small town within itself where neighbours are friendly and always have a smile or offer a helping hand.   The staff all make this even more so because they give you the feeling that this isn’t just a  “business” they are running per se, but instead you feel like part of something special – like one big family and in turn this makes the Park feel like a home for all of us to cherish.
